The Shelby American Series 1 is powered by a specially-modified aluminum Oldmobile Aurora V8 with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder. A unique design places the transmission at the rear exle, enabling the Shelby American Series 1 to a perfect 50/50 front to rear weight ratio. The Series 1 body is made entirely of carbon fiber composites and heat-treated with aluminum chassis to keep a total weight under 3000lbs. It's this unique combination of power, unparalleled handling and weight responsiveness which creates the experience of driving a race car on the street. |
