The Dodge Charger was produced from 1966 through 1978, 1983 through 1987, and again beginning in 2006. It was first introduced at the 1966 Rose Bowl held on January 1st. Delivery began mid-year. The Charger's introduction coincided with the introduction of the new street version of the 426 Hemi (7.0 L). The Charger was designed and built to combat other marque's muscle cars such as the Barracudda and the Mustang. |
